Watch the biggest fireworks show of the year
– on 20th August from the EUROPA ship!
The 20th of August is a national holiday in Hungary. We are celebrating the foundation of the state, and our first christian king, St. Stephen, while it is also the holiday of the “new bread”. This is the biggest celebration in Hungary!
Our special Firework Cruise features a welcome champagne, delicious warm buffet dinner, live Hungarian music and unlimited drink consumption. After dinner you can also admire the biggest event of the year from the upper deck of the ship.

The Panorama of Budapest is not only an unforgettable experience, but an illustration of the capital’s history. The banks – added to the World Heritage List of UNESCO – offer one of the world’s most outstandingly beautiful urban cityscapes. The site stretches from Chain Bridge to the Technical University in Buda; an area containing the Gellért Baths, the Gellért Hill with the Statue of Liberty and the Citadel, furthermore the building ensemble of the Buda Castle.
The delicious meals on the ship are prepared by Chef Molnárka Péter.
Our cruise starts around 19:00, and will anchor before the fireworks start (ships aren’t allowed to sail during the show).
The cruising itself includes live music. The music is performed by three members of the Kodály Zoltán Awarded Rajkó Folk Orchestra, including the world-famous violinist Vidák Zsigmond (awarded with the Bronze Merit Cross of the Hungarian Republic).
Did You know?
Stephen has always been considered one of the most important statesmen in the history of Hungary. His main achievement was the establishment of a Christian state that ensured that the Hungarians survived in the Carpathian Basin. His right hand is still kept in the largest church of the capital, the St. Stephen’s Basilica.
